Schattenspiel – $0.99/£0.99
A new puzzle game just released last week and it looks to have a really interesting concept.
In Schattenspiel, there are no timers and no enemies. Your job is simply to move around lamps and blocks to create mini works of art. Each level presents a minimal pattern of light and shadow for you to copy, using the simple tools at your disposal to recreate the pattern.
With a low price point and a full 81 levels to work through, this is a relaxing and unique slice of puzzle fun that combines art and gameplay. It’s playable one-handed in portrait mode and we reckon it’s a good one to have loaded up on your Home screen for those times when you have a few minutes to kill.
The game was created by a 19-year-old developer from Germany who got the idea while fixing a lamp. Oh, and in case you were wondering? “Shattenspiel” is German for “shadow theatre.”
