Apple event confirmed for September 9, 2014

After several weeks of rumors, it has been confirmed that an Apple event will take place on September 9, 2014.

Apple sent out invites to several trusted sources including The Loop today. The Apple event will kick-off at 10:00 a.m. PDT/05:00 p.m. UTC. Unlike previous years the presentation is taking place at the Flint Center for Performing Arts in Cupertino, California. This is closer to Apple’s own headquarters, also located in Cupertino.

The invite takes the shape of the top of the Apple logo in plain white along with the message “Wish we could say more.” It is widely expected that Apple will unveil the next generation of the iPhone, known as the iPhone 6. The next device is set to feature a sapphire screen, which should be stronger than the current glass in use. Two screen sizes measuring in at 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch have also been consistently suggested.  Leaked cases seem to confirm the former being a certainty but the latter may be released later in the year or even in 2015.

It’s also been rumored that Apple will unveil their wearable device, dubbed “iWatch“, at the September 9 event. This device is set to link into Apple’s new health focus with HealthKit being included in iOS 8. Apple has also hired plenty of health experts as well as figures from the world of fashion, including Paul Deneve who was working at Yves Saint Laurent. Tim Cook has stated that he is working on “special projects” with Apple.

We’ll cover the event live and bring you all the important revelations.
