Apple selling SIM-free iPhone 6 & 6 Plus in US

Apple confirms it will be selling the iPhone 6 & 6 Plus off-contract from today priced from $649

The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are now available to users that don’t wish to have their device attached to any carrier. Until now, news on this was limited to claims from an analyst but now Apple has updated its store page to reflect the move.

It’s a big investment, but if someone is into the idea of completely owning their iPhone 6 from the start, they can buy it without having a specific carrier attached. Prices for the iPhone 6 start at $649 for the 16GB model and rise by $100 increments for the 64GB and 128GB models. The iPhone 6 Plus starts at $749 and follows the same pattern.

Orders are ready to ship within 3-5 working days of purchase. The SIM-free phones will be available for purchase at Apple retail stores, starting today.
