Decade Collection: Apple unveils limited edition Beats headphones

To celebrate the ten year anniversary of the Beats by Dre line of headphones, Apple has updated five of its most popular models with a limited edition red-and-black color scheme called “made defiant.”

Beats was founded in 2008 by rapper Dr Dre and music producer Jimmy Iovine. The brand quickly gained popularity, especially amongst the younger generation, and was eventually bought up by Apple in 2014 for a whopping $3bn. Beats products now make up the majority of Apple’s headphones lineup.

If you’ve been thinking about upgrading your headphones, or have been curious about Beats for a while, now is a prime opportunity to get on board. These limited “made defiant” designs are the same price as the regular products and will definitely stand out in the crowd. Remember, though, they won’t be available for long.

The five models updated as part of the decade collection are outlined below, from least to most expensive. All are available via the Apple Store.

urBeats3 Earphones ($100/£90)

BeatsX Earphones ($150/£130)

Powerbeats3 Wireless Earphones ($200/£170)

Beats Solo3 Wireless On-Ear Headphones ($300/£250)

Beats Studio3 Wireless Headphones ($350/£300)

If you’re not sold on the new look but still fancy some nice new Beats by Dre headphones, some of the vanilla models are currently discounted on Amazon.
