iWatch components now in production?

It’s being reported that Apple’s so far unannounced iWatch has reached the ‘engineering verification test’ (EVT) development stage – signaling a likely shipping date in 2015.

The information comes via a new report from Digitimes.

Previous reports in Re/Code and Bloomberg however, have been teasing the release of an iWatch alongside the iPhone 6.

However, due to the latest report, it’s believed that any Apple wearable won’t be released until next year. The EVT stage means that while components are said to be in production, Digitimes’ sources note that the device will need to go through a production verification testing (PVT) stage before mass production.

Following the reveal of a Health app in iOS 8 back in June, it’s been seen as almost certain that Apple has been working on wearable technology that will track health and fitness related metrics.
