Apple has officially unveiled some of the new emoji coming to iOS later this year.
Today, July 17, is World Emoji Day. Yes, that is a real thing, and Apple has taken the opportunity to show 0ff many of the new icons coming soon to an iPhone or iPad near you.
Take a look below at some of the new entries, which offer more diverse hairstyle choices than ever before. Finally, people with ginger hair, curly hair, or no hair at all can relate to their emoji.
There’s also a ton of new animals, new foods, new activities, and a range of superheroes – here’s a preview of just a few of the dozens of new emoji coming in 2018.
The new emoji set for 2018 was actually announced a few months ago by Unicode, the consortium that keeps emojis in check across all countries and platforms. But this is the first time we’ve seen the official artwork Apple will be using to implement those emoji.
We expect these new emoji to be available to all users alongside the launch of iOS 12 this September.
