iPhone 8/X: new tips for the latest devices

  • by

iPhone X has a completely fresh design, with a full-screen display and no Home button. This means that some of the basics work a little differently on this device, which is why we’ve written some brand new tips to help you get started if you’re lucky enough to own one.

You can find these tips in a new iPhone X chapter at the end of this guide. It covers essentials like setting up and using Face ID, getting used to life without the Home button, and how to easily reach the top of the tall display. It also looks at fun new features such as Animoji and Portrait Lighting, which is also available on the iPhone 8 Plus.

Elsewhere we’ve got a couple of other new tips to check out – at the end of the Next Steps chapter we’ve added a couple new guides. Wireless charging is worth a read if you have an iPhone 8, 8 Plus, or X, while ARKit explains the basics of augmented reality for anyone running iOS 11.
