More from the App Store – great apps you might have missed [11 Dec 2020]

  • by

Thousands of apps and games are added to the App Store each week, and trawling through them to find the good ones can be difficult. That’s where we come in! We’ve found two new titles in particular that we think are worthy of your attention, as well as a golden oldie that we reckon deserves another mention.

App of the Week

D2W Fitness by DeMarcus Ware [Free]

Do we really need another fitness app? Maybe not, but when that app is developed by a former NFL great who majored in computer science, and in close cooperation with Apple’s very own engineers, then we’re willing to take notice. Super Bowl–winning linebacker DeMarcus Ware promises to give you a training regime that’s fit for the pros, and your $14.49 a month subscription will enable you to work out with Ware and his NFL chums.

Game of the Week

SteamWorld Quest [$10/£10]

If you’ve finally exhausted the multi-faceted delights offered by Slay the Spire – unlikely, we know – then Image & Form is here with a more than worthy alternative. SteamWorld Quest is another glossy card battler, but with the onus placed on memorable robotic characters and the franchise’s signature sense of humour. Take part in turn-based tactical RPG battles, but using a range of punch cards to initiate attacks. It’s another console port that really feels like it was made to be played on your iOS device.
