Apps of the Week: three great apps from December 13, 2019

  • by

Thousands of apps and games are added to the App Store each week, and trawling through them to find the good ones can be difficult. That’s where we come in! We’ve found two new titles in particular that we think are worthy of your attention, as well as a golden oldie that we reckon deserves another mention.

App of the Week

Ingredients [$4/£4]

The adoption of plant-based diets has grown exponentially as conscientious eaters weigh up the impact of eating meat on both their health and that of the Earth. There’s no shortage of apps to help out with vegan recipe ideas, but few are as slick or comprehensive-looking as Ingredients. It’s from Andrew Olson of the award-winning One Ingredient Chef website, and it supplies more than 275 plant-based recipes with tasty photos, step-by-step guidance, and powerful search and organization tools.

Game of the Week

Dumb Ways to Dash [Free]

A new game from the developer behind ‘Dumb Ways to Die’, Dumb Ways to Dash switches to a familiar 3D runner format. The twist is that there’s a pronounced combative gauntlet-running element, as you bump and nudge your fellow racers off the edge of the course and into traps. It’s a bit of a shame that your rivals are AI-controlled, but this at least enables the races to flow along at a snappy rate. The visual style is as adorable as ever, too.
