More from the App Store – great apps you might have missed [10 June 2022]

Thousands of apps and games are added to the App Store each week, and trawling through them to find the good ones can be difficult. That’s where we come in! We’ve found two new titles in particular that we think are worthy of your attention, as well as a golden oldie that we reckon deserves another mention.

App of the Week

Tertulia [Free]

Tertulia is a sharp new app for bookworms, providing pinpoint book recommendations through a deft combination of artificial intelligence and human curation, as well as collating book-related talk from across social media and the web. Feed in some information on your tastes, and the app will provide you with five book recommendations per day. If you’re living in the US, you can even use Tertulia to purchase books directly.

Game of the Week

Diablo Immortal [Free]

While action RPGs aren’t exactly our bread and butter, it’s impossible to overlook the impact that Diablo Immortal has already made. Blizzard’s free-to-play hack and slasher will quite possibly go down as the biggest mobile game of the year – quite literally, in fact, given its 12GB install size. The Diablo formula is timeless: cut a swathe through legions of enemies in a dark fantasy world, levelling up your hero and hoovering up mountains of loot.

App Store Classic

Audible [Free]

Tertulia is all well and good for book fans, but if you prefer your literature to be read out to you while you work or rest, there’s really only one place to turn to. Amazon’s Audible app offers a vast library of audiobooks, with a slick magazine-like shopfront and a smart discovery process. It’s also a great way to keep up with your favourite podcasts.
