Apps of the Week: three of our faves from Feb 22, 2019

  • by

Thousands of apps and games are added to the App Store each week, and trawling through them to find the good ones can be difficult. That’s where we come in! We’ve found three titles in particular that we think are worthy of your attention this week.

Pipe Push Paradise [$4/£4]

This lovely-looking but fiendish puzzler contains hints of the classic Amiga game Pipe Mania, as you rotate and connect up disparate pieces of piping in order to maintain the flow of water. In this game, however, each individual pipe piece is an unwieldy physical object existing within a confined space. Anyone who’s ever had to lift a new couch into a small apartment will understand the logistical issues this small twist creates.

Distrust [Free]

This atmospheric isometric survival game draws heavily from John Carpenter’s classic horror movie, The Thing. The influence is right there to see in the remote icy setting and a pervading sense of paranoia, as you help a small team of Antarctic researchers to escape from a mind-bending alien threat. It’s imperative that you help them to stay warm, rested, well fed, and most importantly: sane.
