Lita: slick meal-planning app for veggie lovers

Plan, shop, and cook with ease

Vegetarians and plant-loving carnivores, rejoice: there’s a new app in town to take the sting out of planning a week of healthy meals.  “Families stress about dinner on a daily basis,” say the developers. “Planning your meals with Lita helps you save time, eat healthier, and save money.”

Lita – Swedish for trust – is a complete overhaul of an old App Store favorite, Meal Plan, and its new incarnation is looking good. The app encourages users to prepare for the week ahead, either with predefined meal plans or a pick-and-choose list from the many great recipes featured in the app.

Once you’ve picked out what you want to eat each day, you can export the entire thing – along with a condensed list of ingredients – to the Notes app, or anywhere else you like to keep your shopping lists.

Some of these veggie recipes look seriously tasty

It looks like a slick system that encourages a healthier, more environmentally-friendly lifestyle, while saving you hassle at the same time. A good chunk of the app’s content is completely free, but some of the recipes and weekly plans are locked behind a monthly subscription plan. We’d say it’s worth trying the app out for a week and subscribing if you find it genuinely helpful.

Anyway, the app is a free download so if you’re curious to improve your eating habits then you can make your own mind up!
