App of the Week

Hoptale: Remember Your Journey [Free]

As the world slowly opens up again following its enforced hiatus, Hoptale has arrived at the perfect time to help document your travels. It takes your snaps and effortlessly combines them with itinerary and journal functions to produce a quick virtual scrapbook of your trip. It’s also a small matter to share your journeys with friends and family, as well as a wider community of travelers. Add in a crisp, fluid design, and you have the perfect app to help banish those lockdown blues.

Game of the Week

Chicken Police [$8.99/£8.99]

A narrative adventure with a deeply quirky fantasy-noir aesthetic made up of chopped-up real photos and photo-realistic 3D backgrounds. Guide legendary detective duo Sonny Featherland and Marty MacChicken (no, really) through a strange black and white world, interrogating a motley crew of fully voiced anthropomorphized animals. You won’t have seen or played anything quite like Chicken Police before, of that you can be sure.

Pandora [Free]

One of the original ‘free’ music streaming apps, Pandora provides personalized radio stations that pay attention to what sort of music (and podcasts) you actually like to listen to, then makes smart recommendations accordingly. The optional Pandora Plus and Pandora Premium subscription tiers strip away the various limitations associated with the free tier, as well as removing ads, improving the audio quality, and adding various other features into the mix. The perfect app for the curious musical traveler.
