Apple just spilled the beans on its planned updates for iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, watchOS 11, tvOS 18, and visionOS 2, with some very exciting stuff on the horizon. Be sure to check our WWDC24 Recap if you missed it for details on all of the above.
But which devices are capable of running these new software releases? Here’s our 2024 compatibility cheat sheet. Hopefully all the kit you already own is on the list!
iOS 18
Rejoice! Every iPhone that could run iOS 17 can also run iOS 18. For the most part, anyway – most of the Apple Intelligence features will only be available on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. Here’s the full list of compatible models.

Only one device is on the chopping block compared to last year’s list. If you own a 6th-gen iPad, sadly you’ll be stuck with iOS 17. Everything else listed below is compatible with iPadOS 18.

macOS Sequoia
The newest operating system for Mac works on various devices dating back to 2017, not just the more recent M-chip models. If you’re not sure which Mac you have, see Apple’s identification guide.

watchOS 11
This release is a bit more brutal, with three older models no longer compatible with this year’s update. Apple Watch Series 4, Series 5, and the original SE will top out with last year’s watchOS 10. But the following models can run watchOS 11, so long as you have an iOS 18-compatible iPhone to pair with.

tvOS 18
All the 4K Apple TVs can run tvOS 18, but surprisingly an older model released way back in 2015 also makes the cut.
