Angry Birds meets Transformers in brand-new game

Rovio has announced another Angry Birds collaboration – this time, with Hasbro’s Transformers. Following on from their popular Star Wars tie-in, this new Angry Birds will take the winning formula of previous games and apply it to the popular entertainment franchise.

“This mash-up is going to appeal to those who grew up with the brand in the 80s, as well as fans of the brand today,” said Blanca Juti, Chief Marketing Officer at Rovio.

In the game, the world of Transformers will be applied to the Angry Birds universe with a new story and characters. The birds will become the Autobirds while the dastardly pigs will be the Deceptihogs. The game will have a new story and characters that should keep Angry Birds feeling fresh.

Angry Birds Star Wars was an excellent game, so more of the same please Rovio

Angry Birds previously took on the almighty Star Wars franchise

Alongside the app, Hasbro will be releasing new Telepods toys that will interact with the game by unlocking extras and unique powers. Telepods are little action figures or figurines that allow users to have these figures interact with the game using QR codes. Hasbro has previously developed Telepods for Angry Birds Star Wars and Angry Birds Go! and has sold over 1 million of the physical accessories.

There’s currently no release date mentioned but Rovio suggest you head to transformers.angrybirds.com for all the latest news.
