App Store discounts – Affinity apps and more slash prices

It can be hard to find real bargains on the App Store these days, as so many services and utilities have moved to a freemium model with no up-front cost. But many of the best apps still come with a price tag, and there are some big hitters offering discounts this week. Don’t miss out!

All prices are accurate at the time of writing, but please be mindful that they could change at any time.

Affinity Photo

Was $20/£20, now $10/£10

This is the iPad’s answer to Adobe Photoshop, an app so well-realised for the touch screen that in many ways it’s actually better than its inspiration. The app’s impressive toolset may take some learning, but Affinity Photo can handle pretty much any image editing task. It’s great for retouching, filtering, building compositions, color correction, sketching, and so much more. We recommend this even at full price, but currently you can get full access forever for the cost of a single month’s access to Photoshop.

Affinity Designer

Was $20/£20, now $10/£10

Yep, at the time of writing both of Affinity’s pro-grade iPad apps are half price. Affinity Designer is a vector drawing program akin to Adobe Illustrator, and once again it offers a phenomenal set of tools for a relatively low entry price. Illustrators and graphic designers of all stripes should have this in their app arsenal, no questions asked.
