Apple has just wrapped up the best year in its history. The company reported $114.5 billion in revenue for the three months ending September 26, up 12 percent on last year. iPhone set a record for the September quarter. And with the iPhone Duo leading its holiday lineup, Apple clearly expects the good times to keep rolling.

A $479 billion year

Apple’s financial year runs from October to late September, so these results close out what it calls fiscal 2026. Across the whole year, Apple brought in $479 billion, an all-time record.

Profit per share was $2.10 for the quarter, up 14 percent. Not all of that came from selling more stuff, though. Apple says refunds on tariffs (taxes on imported goods) added about 5 cents per share and nudged its profit margin up by roughly one percentage point. Even so, net income and earnings per share were both September quarter records.

iPhone and Services lead the way

iPhone had its best September quarter ever, according to Apple. That’s the period that includes the first few weeks of each new iPhone lineup going on sale.

Services hit an all-time high too. That’s Apple’s catch-all for the things you pay for after buying a device, such as App Store purchases, iCloud storage, Apple Music and AppleCare. Apple also says the number of its devices in active use reached a new high across every major product category and region.

iPhone Duo heads up the holiday lineup

Apple CEO John Ternus used the results to look ahead to the holidays. He called the iPhone Duo “the most transformational iPhone since the original”, which is quite a claim to live up to. It sits alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.

Ternus also mentioned new hardware for the home, touch support coming to the Mac for the first time, and what Apple calls the all-new Siri AI. The results announcement doesn’t go into detail on any of these products. It’s simply Apple telling investors what it’s counting on for the busiest shopping season of the year.

A small payout for shareholders

If you own Apple stock, you’ll get a dividend of 27 cents per share. It’s paid on November 16 to anyone holding shares at the close of business on November 12.

Apple is streaming its earnings call today, November 2, at 2pm PT (10pm in the UK) at apple.com/investor/earnings-call. A replay will be available for about two weeks.

What it means for you

Record profits don’t change anything on your iPhone or iPad today, and they’re no sign that prices are about to drop. The numbers do show how many people are sticking with Apple and buying from it again, and that’s good news for long-term software support and new features.

If you’re weighing up an iPhone Duo or iPhone 18 Pro as a holiday gift, this report won’t help you choose. The products themselves will. And if your current iPhone is working fine, there’s no reason to rush out just because Apple had a good year.

This announcement doesn’t include any product prices or release dates, in either the US or the UK. It covers Apple’s finances only, so check Apple’s product pages for current pricing and availability.
