Apple posts Robin Williams tribute

Apple has added a page to their website dedicated to Robin Williams following the actor’s passing this week.

A large image is accompanied by a short statement, which reads as follows:

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Robin Williams. He inspired us through his passion, his generosity, and the gift of laughter. He will be greatly missed.

This is only the third time that Apple has dedicated a whole page on their website. The previous two were for Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple, and Nelson Mandela, the former South African president. Williams had previously provided a voiceover for a recent iPad advert in which he reads his monologue from the film “Dead Poets Society”. You can watch the ad below:

Apple has also updated the iTunes Store, adding a collection of films, TV shows, and stand-up shows Williams appeared in.
