After much hype, the Apple Watch is finally available for preorder ahead of its release on 24 April.
As of today, 10 April, Apple’s latest new product goes live for purchase – exclusively on their online store. There are a choice of straps and sizes for all three models: the standard steel Apple Watch, the ‘budget’ aluminum Apple Watch Sport, and the luxury 18-karat gold Apple Watch Edition. Prices range from $349 (£299) all the way up to $17,000 (£13,500).
Meanwhile, today also marks the first time potential customers will be able to try on the smartwatch at the Apple Store. Be warned though – initially these appointments are by reservation only and won’t offer the chance to purchase at the counter.
All preorders need to be made online – but unless you’re certain of the size and model you want, it may be worth booking in for a try-out session at the retail store. Potential Apple Watch Edition customers will be given special care in-store.
The Apple Watch won the iF Design Gold award even before release, and has found its way into the hands of celebrities already. For the rest of us, there’s a good chance demand will outstrip supply so get online and preorder now if you want one. We’ve ordered ours!
