No time to drop into the Apple Store and ask the Genius Bar for help with your iPhone or iPad? Maybe one of our resident experts can help!
As Apple nerds, we get asked a lot of tech support questions – and some of those questions crop up time and time again. Here’s a recent query that we think will be familiar to many of you.
“Is there a way to stop those annoying pop-ups that ask you to leave a review?”
Good question! Many apps – especially free games – pepper users with pop-ups requesting feedback and ratings.
While it’s good practice to support the apps you like by leaving reviews, users don’t like being coerced into action and these requests can be pretty annoying.
Not many people know you can turn them off at the source, and never see another feedback request again.
Open Settings, tap your Apple ID at the top of the menu, and choose iTunes & App Stores. Here, you can simply toggle off the setting for In-App Ratings & Reviews. Simple as that!
Just remember that if you do feel an app deserves a rating or a review, you can do so manually from the Ratings & Reviews section of its App Store page. (Hint hint.)
