Five Nights At Freddy’s 4 released for iOS

Grab yourself a fresh pair of undies – survival horror game Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 has launched on iOS, less than a year after the first entry in the series was released. The franchise has become incredibly popular over the last 12 months – check out the official trailer below.

A little backstory: in March 2015, developer Scott Cawthon released Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 as the concluding chapter of a trilogy. He claimed it would be the last game in his popular horror series. Then, one month later, Cawthon u-turned, announcing that he would in fact be making another sequel, but that it wouldn’t arrive until Halloween. Now, in August 2015 Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 is here earlier than expected. These things move quickly. That’s partly why they’re so scary.

The Freddy’s series typically has you playing as a hapless security guard on a night shift in a restaurant haunted by murderous toy animals, with only your inconsistent CCTV feeds for company. This time around, you play as a child armed only with a flashlight, trying to survive the night (well, five nights) without coming into contact with the terrifying animatronics from the original games.

Once again this game has been touted as “the final chapter” – but give it a week or two and we’ll probably see FNaF 5 and 6 hit the shelves.
