New iPhone 18 Pro leak confirms bold Dark Cherry colorway

A fresh leak has given us our clearest look yet at the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro’s color lineup, and it seems to confirm what we heard on the grapevine last month: Apple is going bold again.

Leaker Sonny Dickson has posted images of iPhone 18 Pro dummy models in four finishes – Dark Cherry, light blue, dark gray, and silver – matching the Pantone codes that surfaced in an earlier Macworld report. The headline shade is Dark Cherry, though don’t let the name fool you: it’s decidedly purple, not red. Either way, it’s clearly meant to be this year’s showstopper.

That’s a familiar move. Last year’s Cosmic Orange was everywhere in Apple’s marketing and reportedly sold well, so the company is likely trying to recapture that magic with the 18 Pro. For everyone who’d rather not announce their phone from across the room, there’s the as-yet-unnamed light blue – a softer tone reminiscent of the iPhone 13 Pro’s Sierra Blue – alongside the safer dark gray and silver variants.

What the leak doesn’t show is any kind of substantial redesign to the phone itself. The dummies carry essentially the same look as the iPhone 17 Pro, with only minor tweaks – the glass panel below the cameras now blends more closely with the surrounding aluminum and sits slightly higher. That holding pattern makes sense, with Apple widely expected to spend its energy this September on the folding iPhone Ultra, leaving a bigger Pro overhaul to wait for the iPhone 19 next year.
