Razer reveals the Junglecat controller for iPhone

Since controller support for games was first announced back at WWDC 2013, a fair few have been released, yet none have really hit the sweet spot between playability and ease-of-use.

However, this could be about to change following an announcement from games technology producer Razer, which has stepped up to the plate and announced its Junglecat controller for iOS.

The Junglecat has a slide out design that doubles as a case for your iPhone 5s. At only 20 mm thick this should easily fit into your pocket – in Razer’s own words, they ‘shaved every millimeter possible in the controller’s design to ensure it molds seamlessly with the sleek profile of the iPhone.’

The gamepad features four pressure sensitive buttons alongside a D-pad and bumpers all packed into its svelte design. The accessory will also be available in white or black models to match your iPhone. The case also leaves access to all of the phone’s ports and buttons to ensure you can interact with it as you normally would.

Alongside the controller, Razer has released a Junglecat companion app that will help find compatible games.

The controller will be available in early July from Razer’s website at $99.99/£79.99.
