Siri goes multilingual in iOS 8.3

iOS 8.3 beta 2 has been released to developers which, among other things, introduces a brand new feature. Siri now supports:

  • Russian
  • Danish
  • Dutch
  • Portuguese
  • Swedish
  • Thai
  • Turkish
  • English (for the Indian version)

That’s an impressive list of new additions, and really expands Siri’s use into eastern Europe and Asia. The new options can be accessed via Siri in the Settings app on all iOS devices including the iPod touch.

We’re quite a way off this update yet however. iOS 8.2 is due to be released in March, and considering Apple’s new emphasis on stability, updates may take longer to come through. However, a public beta will be released in March, if you can’t wait to try the latest feature. We’d recommend waiting for the full release though, even if your mother tongue is one of the languages mentioned.
