Apple’s Worldwide Developer’s Conference (WWDC) kicks off today, and with it comes plenty of announcements – including a first look at the upcoming iOS 14 and iPadOS 14.
The conference – this year going fully virtual as a safety precaution – lasts all week, but most of that time consists of technical workshops for app developers. All the important stuff the public is likely to care about is revealed at the opening keynote speech. Tim Cook and his team have promised “exciting new innovations and updates” for all Apple platforms – we can’t wait to find out exactly what that entails.
Apple is live-streaming the opening keynote around the world today at 10am PDT. That equates to 1pm on the east coast and 6pm in the UK – at the time of writing that’s just a few short hours away.
How to follow along
The keynote will be streamed live and if you want to see all the announcements in their full glory there’s no better way than watching the entire thing online. If you miss the talk as it goes out live, it’ll be available on-demand to watch later.
You can watch on an iPhone or iPad via apple.com/apple-events or go to that same web address on your computer. Apple says the stream is only compatible with Safari on a Mac or Microsoft Edge on a PC.
If that doesn’t work for you, the keynote will also be streamed live on YouTube, which you can of course access from any platform.
Finally, if you have an Apple TV and want to tune on on the big screen, simply open the TV app and look for the WWDC section.
Whichever method you choose, the full event is likely to last around two hours and will show off all manner of software features. Apple sometimes uses its time at WWDC to unveil new hardware, too, so we could be in for more than just iOS announcements.
