Apple announces WWDC26 dates, with iOS 27 and AI front and center

Apple has confirmed the dates for this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference. WWDC26 runs from Monday, June 8 through Friday, June 12, and as usual it’ll be a free, mostly online event open to developers and the public worldwide.

As a quick refresher: WWDC is Apple’s annual software showcase, where it reveals upcoming OS updates and new developer tools. Although primarily for devs, it’s also the world’s first look at what’s coming to iPhone, iPad, Mac, and beyond later this year. If you care about iOS 27, you’ll want to keep an eye on the conference.

The week kicks off with the keynote on Monday, June 8 at 10am PT. That’s the one worth watching regardless of whether you write apps for a living – it streams live on YouTube and is where Apple makes its biggest announcements. Rest assured we’ll be posting all the important bits here if you don’t fancy tuning in for a 2-hour presentation.

Apple will also host an in-person event at Apple Park on June 8 for a selection of developers and students, chosen by random lottery.

On the software side, we’re expecting previews of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, tvOS 27, and visionOS 27. Apple has already teased that WWDC26 will spotlight “AI advancements and exciting new software and developer tools,” a pointed signal after last year’s conference was dominated by the Liquid Glass redesign with AI largely taking a back seat.

The big expectation is a meaningful upgrade to Siri – one that finally delivers the personal context, onscreen awareness, and cross-app capabilities Apple first promised back in 2024. Whether it actually lands this time remains to be seen. Either way, June 8 is shaping up to be an interesting morning. We’ll have full coverage when WWDC26 kicks off.
