Best battery cases for the iPad

  • by

If your iPhone battery tends to run out before the end of the day, or you spend a lot of time traveling without easy access to a charger, a battery case could be the solution. But with so many out there, how do you know which are the best models?

We’ve carefully selected our top picks across a range of price points – whether you’re on a budget or looking for the best money can buy, we’ve got you covered!

Anker Ultra Slim Extended Battery Case ($40)

Going cheap doesn’t necessarily mean you miss out on quality: this Anker case is thin, light, and will more than double the battery life of your iPhone (with an impressive 2,850mAh capacity) without breaking the bank. What you lose at this price point is durability and looks. It’s a fairly plain-looking design and the plastic isn’t especially resilient to knocks and scrapes. For the money, though, this is an exceptional battery case and easily holds its own against more expensive models.

Incipio Ghost Qi Wireless Charging Battery Case ($100)

Spend a little extra and you get an ultra-convenient case that supports the industry-standard Qi wireless charging. That means you can charge the case up without fiddling with any wires – although you will need a Qi charging pad (sold separately!) to take advantage of this. The battery capacity is a little smaller at 2,100mAh, but that’s still enough to almost double your iPhone battery life. If you can’t wait for Apple to add wireless charging to the iPhone, this could be the case for you.

Mophie Juice Pack Ultra Case ($150)

If you want the juiciest battery money can buy, this Mophie case has you covered with it’s huge 3,950mAh capacity, which equates to around 150% of additional battery life. That does add a little bulk compared to the Anker, but it’s pretty slim for the size of the battery and also provides decent drop protection for your iPhone thanks to an internal bumper system.
