On reflection, we think the Dynamic Island introduced with iPhone 14 Pro is the most interesting addition of the year. It’s vintage Apple and it came completely out of the blue. As such, we’ve dedicated two articles to it this issue: one in Features, looking at why Dynamic Island represents the best of Apple design; and one in How-To, going hands-on with a device to explain exactly how it works in practice.
