Latest issue of Swipe: The Wow Factor

We’ve just published the latest issue of our sister app, Swipe Magazine. It’s full of the same kind of tips and features you’ll find here, packaged neatly into fortnightly issues. There are dozens of back issues available and you can trial it completely free if you want a new way to get to know your iPhone!

Editor’s Notes

We’re making a few changes to the content of Swipe magazine. Going forward we’ll be ditching one app review each issue to make space for occasional bonus app roundups. Roundups give us the opportunity to show you a handful of apps at once, so we think they constitute more value to the average reader than a single review. We’re going to try to cram in an extra tutorial each issue in the How-To section too – increasingly the tutorials are our most popular content so why not write even more of them!

This issue in particular our cover story is apps that have the “wow factor.” For this Reviews roundup we’ve focused on apps that do something so cool or futuristic or mind-blowing that you’ll want to immediately show your friends. Alongside it is a detailed look at some of the best web browsers out there that can be used to replace (or augment) Safari. They all offer something a little different and we think we’ve got every major use case covered.

Head to the Features section and you’ll find two pieces for the creatives among you. First is a starter guide to digital art using an iPhone or iPad, covering all the basics you’ll need to get arty. Secondly, we’re going into even more detail on color palettes to show you a bunch of great tips for finding and using great color schemes for your projects.

Of course, there’s plenty of News to read too, and a diverse How-To section that I think contains my personal favorite lineup of tutorials for a long time.
