Welcome to #205 – a note from the editor

Hello there readers!

Apple used to say “there’s an app for that,” to imply any task you could think of could be achieved through its App Store. But that’s not always the case – there are plenty of websites out there offering amazing ‘web apps’ that don’t have an equivalent in the App Store.

So this issue, our main roundup in the Reviews section focuses on ten of the best web apps out there. These tools, services, and games are completely free and never need updating!

Head to the Features section and you’ll find two great think pieces. Firstly, we look at the rumors that Apple will eventually remove all ports from the iPhone – would that be a step too far for users?

Secondly, we’re considering how iPad and Mac are slowly becoming more similar – what happens if you take that convergence to its natural conclusion?

If you’re looking forward to iOS 14’s launch (or are currently testing the beta release) then we’ve got plenty for you to digest in the How-To section too. All three guides this issue showcase new features, including App Clips, a redesigned Spotlight search, and an all-new Game Center.

All that, plus the latest Apple News and much more to dig into. Ciao!
