Welcome to #246 – a note from the editor

Welcome to issue #246 of Swipe!

The current generation of Mac computers – including the newly introduced Mac Studio – all run on Apple’s M1 chips, meaning they can run apps originally designed for iPhone and iPad. In our cover story this issue we look at some of the best iOS apps that also work great on macOS – but rest assured, even if you don’t have an M1 Mac these apps are all worth a look regardless.

Later in the issue, we continue our classic apps retrospective with an in-depth look at Instapaper and Infinity Blade, alongside some thoughts on the latest iteration of Apple’s “budget” iPhone SE.

Beyond that, as per usual, you’ll find plenty of news and tutorials – including details on the mask-friendly Face ID features found in the latest iOS software update.

Enjoy!
