Our cover story this time is all about photography, as we revisit the best camera apps for iPhone in 2023. A lot has changed since we last wrote a camera roundup, with the latest iPhones now rocking three distinct lenses and capable of shooting at an incredible 48MP. Even the built-in Camera app itself has added lots of new features over the past years – but that doesn’t necessarily make it the perfect camera app for everyone. Those who want to dive further into manual settings, pro-level features, or fun filters have plenty of other apps to choose from. Head to the Reviews section for our pick of the litter and then unleash your inner photographer!
We’ve also got an exciting double-bill of articles about ‘sideloading’ this issue, which I’m hoping will prove an insightful entry point for readers who maybe aren’t quite sure what that means yet. In the Features section, you’ll find an opinion piece from our lead writer Craig Grannell on why Apple allowing users to go beyond the App Store is a smart move, even though full-fledged third-party stores on the platform might be a bad idea.
