Croissant is a new app designed to simplify posting across multiple social media platforms, particularly newer ones like Threads, Bluesky, and Mastodon. (If you’re not up to date with social media, see our platform roundup!)
It’s designed to help anyone who posts regularly to the above platforms and is sick of copy-and-pasting between multiple apps, manually adding images and tags each time. Croissant allows you to draft a post, add images, hashtags, and mentions, and share it across your selected platforms in one go.
To get started, you’ll of course need to sign into your social accounts for some combination of Threads, Bluesky, and Mastodon. You can draft a post from the main screen, and you’ll be able to confirm which networks to publish to before posting. If you want to leave any out of a particular missive, simply deselect them before hitting Post!
You can then swipe horizontally to add another post to the thread, or delete it if you have a change of heart. Meanwhile, open the post options menu to adjust settings for each platform – changing who can see your post or who can reply, depending on the network’s features.
Croissant stands out in a landscape where many cross-posting tools are geared toward large businesses, often charging high subscription fees. The app’s developers – one of whom is responsible for pro camera app Obscura – specifically shout out solo creators and small teams as their target audience. That’s reflected in the pricing at a relatively reasonable $3/month, $20/year, or $60/lifetime.
