When looking at a conversation in Messages it’s not always clear who you’ve been talking to as by default only their first name is shown across the top of the screen.
To change this, open the Settings app, select Mail, Contacts, Calendars, then tap Short Name. Turn off the Short Name option completely to always show the whole name, or choose from the options below it.
