Moving icons around on your screen is easy, as is deleting any apps that you no longer use.
Hold your finger on one of the apps for a couple of seconds and a pop-up menu will appear. Choose Edit Home Screen and all of the icons will begin shaking. You can now drag to rearrange them.
To move an app to a different page, drag to the edge of the screen and wait a few seconds until it moves across.
The little ‘–‘ icon in the corner of your apps allows you to delete them and free up space for new ones. If you change your mind, these can be easily reinstalled from the App Store.
When you delete an app, you have the option of deleting it outright or hiding it from your Home screen. After tapping the ‘–‘ icon, you can choose Delete or Remove from Home Screen. Apps that are hidden from your Home screen live in the App Library.
To stop the apps shaking, swipe the Home bar or press the Home button. Alternatively, you can tap Done in the top-right of the screen.
Check app size and delete
If your tablet is low on storage, it’s worth knowing what’s taking up all the space. To find out, open the Settings app, select General and then iPad Storage.
This shows the space remaining on your device, as well as all your apps and their size in descending order. You can also delete apps from this screen to free up additional storage space – select the app name followed by Delete App to remove.
