Restrictions can block certain apps or actions on the iPhone, so you can feel safe when handing it over to your kids.

Open Settings and select Screen Time followed by Content & Privacy Restrictions. Turn on the toggle at the top and you can then define constraints for the content types listed below.

There are all kinds of things you can restrict here, but it can be particularly handy to disable In-app Purchases if you find your children racking up unexpected bills in games. Or if you’re partial to those games yourself and have low self-control!

To ensure these settings can’t be easily switched back to regain access, make sure to select Use Screen Time Password from the main Screen Time menu.
