Hi! Thanks for reading. This post looks better in our award-winning app, Tips & Tricks for iPhone.
Top quality photography used to require expensive cameras and extensive technical knowledge, but these days anyone with an iPhone or iPad can have a crack at the big time. You only have to browse the #shotoniphone tag on Instagram to find millions of amazing photos – which is exactly what Apple itself has been doing this week.
Apple has published its favorites from photographers around the globe as part of its ongoing Shot on iPhone campaign, in particular highlighting the capabilities of the iPhone XS and XS Max: “New features like Smart HDR, advanced bokeh in Portrait mode and the ability to change the depth of field with Depth Control are all huge improvements,” Apple explains.
You can see Apple’s full selection here, or scroll down for a handful of our faves hot off the Instagram presses.
If these shots inspire you to up your own photography game, make sure to familiarize yourself with all the tips in the Camera and Photos chapters of Tips & Tricks.
Once you’ve got the basics down, consider moving on to the iPhone Photography Academy for advanced techniques and tuition. There’s a paid course for those wanting to dive straight in, plus some very useful freebies if you’d rather keep your wallet in your pocket.
