Time Lapse: Speed Up Long Video Clips | iOS 17 Guide

Time-lapse videos can also be created within the Camera app. Swipe across the display until Time-Lapse is selected. Ensure the iPhone is resting on a flat surface and then press the Record button. You can leave it recording for minutes or even hours.

When you’ve captured all the footage you want, simply press the button again to stop recording. The time frame will have been compressed so whatever footage you shot lasts around 30 seconds.

It’s a very cool effect that can be used to film anything from a stunning sunset to somebody painting a wall. The result will be a stylized super-speed rendition of a long, slow process.

You can find the time-lapse video you’ve created in the Photos app.
