With the release of iOS 15 a few years back, Safari’s address bar switched from the top to the bottom of the screen. With iOS 26 it changed again, into a floating menu bar.
The address bar will automatically disappear when you interact with the website or start scrolling down the page, and will reappear when you scroll up the page.
Customize the layout
This was quite a controversial design change and some users prefer the old style. To choose between the three available layouts – including one that puts the address bar back to the top like the old days – head to Settings > Safari.
