Apple reveals sky-high profits, Apple Watch release mentioned

Apple has released its quarterly report for the first fiscal quarter of 2015 and the numbers following the launch of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are staggering.

In this quarter alone, they’ve been able to sell 74.5 million handsets, amounting to a profit of $18 billion. This pushed the quarterly profit across the company to a grand total of $74.6 billion. This is in part because Mac sales are at an all time high. The App Store and iTunes are flourishing as well, bringing in $4.8 billion.

The total number of iOS devices sold to date has exceeded $1 billion, and Apple has become the brand to ship the highest number of smartphones to China. That’s impressive indeed, especially considering the competition from Huawei, Xiaomi and Samsung.

Tim Cook also mentioned that the Apple Watch would ship in April, dispelling notions and rumors that it would be arriving in March.

With figures like these, it’s no wonder that Apple has taken its position as the world’s most valuable brand. With the Apple Watch still to come, and their acquisitions within the music industry, they clearly still have a few tricks up their sleeve for 2015.
