New 10.5-inch iPad Pro for 2017, OLED iPads for 2018

A notable analyst has said Apple will revamp its iPad lineup over the next two years with a new 10.5-inch iPad Pro sitting between the 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch models.

The analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, predicts the new iPad will arrive in 2017 alongside a second generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro and a lower cost 9.7-inch model. Kuo believes the 10.5-inch model will largely arrive to help Apple bid for more tenders in the commercial and education markets.

But that’s not all – the following year might also see Apple make big leaps in screen technology on the iPad, moving to AMOLED displays, which use organic compounds to enhance colors and quality. It’s believed that the iPhone will similarly shift to this technology in 2018.

While its appearance on the iPhone won’t be groundbreaking, as other devices currently employ OLED screens, its featuring on the iPad will be a significant move and should have a significant impact on the sales of Apple’s tablet.
