It’s that time of the week again – a host of great apps have just gone on sale, including a live translation app and a BAFTA-nominated puzzle game. Here’s the pick of the litter.

Note – all prices are accurate at the time of publishing, but these sales are for a limited time and the app’s developers can revert the pricing back to normal at any time. Act fast if you want to snag these bargains!

iTranslate – was $6.99/£6.99, now $0.99/£0.99

Can you imagine talking into your phone in one language and immediately hearing yourself in another? That’s exactly what iTranslate Voice does. Just speak into your phone and it immediately replies in one of our 42 languages.

Mini Metro – was $4.99/£4.99, now $2.99/£2.99

Mini Metro is a game about designing a subway map for a growing city. Draw lines between stations and start your trains running. Keep your routes efficient by redrawing them as new stations open. Decide where to use your limited resources. How long can you keep the city moving?

Exacto – was $2.99/£2.99, now $0.99/£0.99

Quickly remove unwanted backgrounds or create razor-sharp photo cutouts with the Pen Selection Tool. We reviewed this one on release, and found it to be a great tool for cutting people out of one photo in order to transplant them onto another. Read the review if you need convincing!

“HOOK” – was $0.99/£0.99, now FREE

“Hook” is a relaxing, minimal, puzzle game. It is more of a game-like experience than a challenge. No menus, no achievements, just you and a puzzle. The player is surrounded by calming sounds and music.
