App

Veteran music discovery tool Discovr gets new design for iOS 10, goes free.

Do you ever struggle to find new music to listen to? Fancy refreshing your tastes? Discovr is a great app that uses a mind map design to help you to discover new music.

If you like a certain artist and want to listen to others that are similar, simply search for the artist, and the app will generate a group of artists that are associated with, or in the same genre. From there, you can tap on another artist, and receive even more suggestions. It’s incredibly simple in its approach.

In the latest update, you can also make maps of individual songs.

You can also listen to samples, or plug in to Apple Music or Spotify to then listen to an artist. You can also stream YouTube videos and buy songs and albums directly from the iTunes store.

Here’s the App Store blurb:

“Discovr is an interactive map of the whole world of music. The app makes it easy to discover new music or explore the music you already love by finding similar artists and displaying artist info like biographies, videos, songs, and more.”
