Apple adds student pricing to multiple new countries – now 30 regions can get $4.99 rate

Apple has expanded its student pricing tier for Apple Music to multiple new regions, bringing the total number of countries its available in to thirty.

The latest rollout allows students access to Apple Music for just $4.99 – a saving of 50 percent – in major countries like Canada, Italy and Japan.

The tier was previously only available in the US, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, UK, Australia and Denmark.

Now it’s available in the following additional countries:

  • Thailand
  • United Arab Emirates

To access the tier, students have to verify their eligibility through UNiDAYS – the same service used to give students access to Apple’s educational pricing on hardware.
