Apple finally releases a Lightning docking station for iPhone 6 & 6 Plus

They may have been released back in September last year, the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus handsets have been sorely missing an official charging cradle to call its home.

Until now – Apple has just introduced the first official Lightning Dock for its latest flagship device.

Apple has been pretty slow on the uptake with this and will likely struggle to regain any of the market lost to decent unofficial solutions, but an official product is always a good and safe base to have.

Of course, it isn’t the first time Apple has neglected its docking responsibilities – back when Apple first switched to Lightning connectors with the iPhone 5, it didn’t get round to releasing an official dock solution until the 5s and 5c were launched a whole 12 months later.

The official Apple Lightning Dock is available now priced at $39.
