Apple Introduces App Store ‘Bundles’

Following the launch of iOS 8, Apple is launching a new feature on the App Store called ‘Bundles’.

Now, you’ll be able to purchase multiple apps and games at the same time (as long as they’re from the same developer) at a reduced price. If you already own an item within the bundle, you get a discount in proportion to how much it would have cost.

Examples include:

Personalization Bundle – Wallpapers, Ringtones, App Icons, Emojis (£2.99 was £5.85)

Angry Birds Ultimate Slingshot Bundle HD (£2.99 was £7.96)

Run Training Bundle (£7.99 was £12.95)

It’s hoped that the move will entice more users to spend money on paid-for apps and games in a more affordable, which could help the mobile games market move away from the $0.99-$1.99 price point. This could in turn mean fewer deceptive in-app purchases in games, that many small studios rely on to turn a profit.
