Good news, guitar fans! Renowned guitar manufacturer Fender is making strides in the world of iOS in two big ways.
Firstly, a new interactive tuition service promises to help users learn the guitar with a series of dynamic lessons that can be tailored to the user’s skill level and musical tastes. Fender Play is available on the web or as an iPhone and iPad app, and offers a 30-day free trial. (After that it’s $20/month, which is a lot for an app but strides cheaper than hiring a guitar teacher!) Check out the below video to see what Fender Play is all about.
We’ve seen apps that teach musical instruments before – see our review of Yousician for a look at one of our favorites – but this looks like a very interesting and well-thought out take on the virtual guitar lesson genre. If you’re curious, you can download the app from the App Store.
Meanwhile, in a double whammy of Fender goodness, the company has partnered with Apple to bring a series of curated guitar-heavy playlists to Apple Music. They will focus on tracks that use Fender guitars – it’s an interesting collection and worth checking out if you’re a guitar nerd.
