Google’s Year in Search 2015 sees Apple in three out of four top search terms

Each year, Google posts its Year in Search video. It looks at the top search terms across a range of categories. For Apple, consumer tech is, naturally, the key category, and once again Apple dominates.

Last year, the iPhone 6 took the number 1 slot, while the unreleased Apple Watch was at number 8 and the iPad Air rounded off the top 10.

However, this year Apple’s brand appeal has widened. Predictably, the iPhone 6s is at number 1, while the Apple Watch jumps to number 3. The iPad meanwhile saw a big launch in 2015, which has led to the term iPad Pro reaching the number 4 slot.

Here’s the full top 10 in consumer tech:

  1. iPhone 6s
  2. Samsung Galaxy S6
  3. Apple Watch
  4. iPad Pro
  5. LG G4
  6. Samsung Galaxy Note 5
  7. Samsung Galaxy J5
  8. HTC One M9
  9. Nexus 6P
  10. Surface Pro 4

Meanwhile, the rest of the world was searching for the following across all categories:

  1. Lamar Odom
  2. Charlie Hebdo
  3. Agar.io
  4. Jurassic World
  5. Paris
  6. Furious 7
  7. Fallout 4
  8. Ronda Rousey
  9. Caitlyn Jenner
  10. American Sniper
