An ad for the forthcoming 12.9-inch iPad Pro has started airing before it hits shelves this week, demonstrating compatible apps, iOS 9’s split-screen functionality, and the accompanying accessory, the Apple Pencil.

The commercial is titled ‘A Great Big Universe’ and makes use of Apple’s familiar space themes found in the wallpaper on MacBooks as well as iOS devices.

The video below see Apple demonstrate the zooming capabilities of Pro to scan the skies using stargazing app Sky Guide, which has previously won an Apple Design Award. It also shows sketching app Procreate, and how it utilizes split-screen functionality, as well as the Apple Pencil.

The iPad Pro goes up for pre-order on Wednesday 11 November.
