Latest New Yorker cover was illustrated using iPad and Apple Pencil

The Apple Pencil was an intriguing if not far reaching accessory upon its release in November 2015. And though there were some big names using it around its release, including Pixar, it’s not been making headlines much since.

However, following the release of the latest issue of the New Yorker, it’s been revealed that the magazine’s cover illustration was remarkably created using Apple’s 12.9-inch iPad Pro using an Apple Pencil.

The cover was made using the great, and easily accessible Procreate app (which you don’t need an Apple Pencil to use.) The picture depicts a Staten Island Ferry and was drawn by Jorge Colombo. It’s not his first New Yorker illustration, but it’s his first using the Apple Pencil and new, super-sized iPad Pro.
